School District of Palm Beach County

Industry: Education

Solution: Provide a full assessment on the O&M activities and computerized maintenance management system, resulting in a cost benefit analysis and road map for future initiatives.

National Manufacturing

Industry: Manufacturing

Calpine

Industry: Power Generation
Challenge: Provide Maximo functional, technical, and upgrade support for implementation of Maximo.
Solution: Our involvement was to provide Maximo functional, technical, and upgrade support for the Maximo Support Center and Implementation Team, composed of several consulting companies and Calpine staff members working in unison and consisting of 50+ people. Additional requirements included Maximo Administrator training, business process analysis, corporate intranet web site design and maintenance, web development training, change control tracking and management, and maintaining an IT Technical Lead staffed position; acting as liaison between the Maximo business unit and various Calpine IT groups. As IT Technical Lead we were responsible for numerous Maximo integrations, including the Maximo MIG, PeopleSoft, Entek Enshare Predictive Maintenance Program, DataSplice Handheld Units, Struxure Integrated Parts Catalog by Intermat, and the WhiteLight data warehouse application. An average of 20 change controls documents with corresponding technical work were reviewed and processed per week with our control over final approval. The Technical Lead provided project continuity between the Maximo Business Unit and IT Groups, including Network Support Personel, Oracle DBA’s, MRO Software Technical Developers, IT Management, and the Maximo Implementation Team members. Additional accomplishments were the successful support and coordination of a complete data center move from city-to-city with minimal impact to the Plants and zero unplanned downtime. The data center was the source of a custom software library for the Maximo Business Unit.

Tennesse Valley Authority

Industry: Power Generation
Challenge: Replace TVA's computerized maintenance management and procurement systems with a single Maximo Enterprise Asset Management system. Migrate TVA's data from those two systems and 21 databases into a single Maximo database instance. This data included maintenance and project activities for Hydro, Conventional, and Nuclear power generation.
Solution: Along side IBM, Deloitte, and Management Resources Group, TCG performed data analysis sessions to correctly map data elements to the target Maximo database structure. TCG then developed data conversion programs using our own proprietary software that generated data load scripts. This software permits very quick import to the Maximo database compared to the IBM Data Loader. That allowed TVA to validate those loads early in the project phase and allowed for reloading to correct issues.
